Samsung Announces Galaxy Grand With 5-Inch WVGA Display

Tuesday, December 18, 2012: Samsung has declared a new Smartphone called the Galaxy Grand. It will employ the Android Operating System and will have a 5 inch LCD display. It seems to be a combination of the Galaxy S3 mini and the Galaxy Note, and its size is mid-way between them with a screen resolution of 480x800 pixels. This Smartphone is smaller, only than the products of the Galaxy Note series. Even though it has a big screen, the phone will be slim, light in weight and easy to hold.

The other features of Samsung Galaxy Grand include a dual core, 1.2 GHz processor with a 1 GB RAM which will sustain flawless multitasking, faster web browsing and quick screen transitions. It will also feature an 8 Megapixel rear camera with a video making capability of 1080p. The camera will also have a photo sensor, which will help to capture good quality photos even in the dark. It will also possess a 2 MP front camera. It will have an 8 GB internal memory as well as a microSD card slot.

In addition to these specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Grand will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Samsung has equipped the Smartphone with some latest technologies, which include Direct Call, Smart Alert and S Voice.

Direct Call enables a user to automatically call a number by simply lifting the phone to his ears. Smart Alert shows all the missed calls and messages to a user the instant he lifts up the phone. Using S Voice, the user can control the phone using only his voice.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand will be available in two editions; I9080 which will a single SIM edition and I9082 which will be a dual SIM model. All in all, the Samsung Galaxy Grand will prove to be one of the most advanced Smartphone present after its release.
